Committee Reports

November 2000

Programs
Community Service

Program (Stephanie Patton/Brittany Hauptman):

The President's Dinner Nov. 3 at The Medallion Club will be the final program of the year, the co-chairs report. However, this doesn't mean the committee or chapter members will be taking it easy until 2001.

Patton reported the committee and will be assisting the Community Service Committee with its Adopt-a-Family program in November and December.

"Money that would have been spent to support a December program will be donated to Community Service, and we will assist them when they go out and shop and prepare for their events, she said.

Patton said the committee should have about $400 to donate to Adopt-a-Family. She also reported that programs are being planned for next year and will be announced soon.

Community Service (Janeen Carson/Mark Haberman):

The committee is completing arrangements for the annual Adopt-a-Family Raffle. Tickets are still selling for $2 each or $10 for a book of six with all proceeds going to the Adopt-a-Family project.

Haberman reported the committee has obtained several "great prizes" for the drawing at the President's Dinner. These include a Table for Ten at next year's Picnic with the Pops on the grounds of Chemical Abstracts Service, Blue Jackets tickets for four donated by Mannington Commercial, lunch and golf for two at the New Albany Country Club donated by DuPont Flooring, and a basket filled with Buckeye goodies donated by Baskets by Bonnie.

Additional prizes include gift certificates worth $50 at the following restaurants: Cheesecake Factory, Brio Tuscan Grill, and the Cameron Mitchell group. Tickets and books are still available from Carson and Haberman.

The committee also is continuing to sell logo items, golf shirts, sweatshirts, and golf towels, with proceeds going to the holiday project. (click here to view items).

Haberman said three families from the St. John Center, 640 South Ohio Ave., will be adopted again this year. He asked anyone wishing to assist the Programs and Community Service committees with delivery and/or shopping for gifts to sign up at the President's Dinner or contact the committee chairs.

The committee will be arranging delivery of Thanksgiving dinners for the adopted families on Wednesday, November 22. Delivery of Christmas gifts will be on Wednesday, December 20, in the afternoon.

Haberman and Carson urge chapter members to: "Get in the spirit and help the less fortunate!"
