Committee ReportsJune 2000Membership Membership Committee (Daphne Swayze/Eileen Smith):
There will be a membership drive from July through September for recruiting professional members, and prizes will be awarded to those who bring in the new faces. (While the chapter always welcomes the interest, involvement, and recruitment of associate members, the points awarded toward prizes during this membership drive are for getting new professional members.) Prizes to be awarded are:
Community Service (Janeen Carson/Mark Haberman):The committee is preparing for the chapter's annual Adopt-A-Family project of supporting three or four families at Thanksgiving and Christmas with food and gifts. To help finance this, the committee is raising money through the sale of logo-imprinted golf shirts, golf towels, and sweatshirts. You may purchase these items by using the form on the chapter Web site or at the golf outing later this month. The committee also is working with Directions For Youth in renovating and furnishing a building at 1066 N. High St. that is used by that organization for a number of youth activities.
Associate Relations (Robert Davis/Dale Schmitz):The committee is gearing up for the sponsorship program and drive, which will be conducted from October through December.
Education Committee (Stephanie Segall/Rosie Herrick):The committee is taking reservations for the August 23 seminar, "Basics of Real Estate," at the Fawcett Center on Olentangy River Road at The Ohio State University. The four-hour seminar will be from 7:30 - 11:30 a.m. and is limited to 50 persons, so make your reservation as soon as possible with Rosie Herrick at (614) 523-6132. A networking session is scheduled from 7 - 7:30 a. m. prior to the seminar. The committee is working on a project management seminar that will be held October 18 at a time and place to be determined. Also, the committee is seeking membership feedback on the two-year associate facility management degree program now offered at Columbus State Community College. The committee would like to know if IFMA members want to continue to support the program due to a decline in enrollment. You may contact either of the committee chairs. ### |
