Membership Committee (2001 Co-Chairs, Daphne Swayze, Eileen Smith)
- Chapter membership increased to 178 members during March, and with
the ratio moving to 76 to 24 percent, professional vs. associate, the
chapter has been able to take three additional companies off the waiting
list.
In an effort to make new members more familiar with all IFMA has to
offer, a series of New Member Breakfasts will be conducted throughout
the year on a quarterly basis.
The first New Member Breakfast will be at 8 a.m. April 25 at Panera
Bread at Olentangy Plaza, and all new members since the first of the
year are invited to the event to meet board members and to be officially
welcomed into the chapter. These new members will receive invitations
by mail.
Subsequent quarterly New Member Breakfasts will be held July 24, October
23, and January 22, 2002. Times and locations will be announced nearer
to these dates.
The committee set dates for its meetings for the remainder of the
year. The next Membership meeting will be12: 30 p.m. April 25 at the
Olive Garden at Sawmill Rd. and I-270. Other meetings will be conducted
on the last Wednesday of each month, or according to the following schedule:

- December,
no meeting.
The committee also announced that members may now pay their membership
renewals at the IFMA.org Web site. Just follow these instructions:

Community Service Committee (2001 Co-Chairs, Janeen Carson, Mark Haberman)
The committee is continuing to sell golf shirts, lightweight sweatshirts,
and golf towels to support the chapter's Adopt-a-Family program. These
items may be ordered on-line at the chapter's Web site. Golf shirts
are $35; sweatshirts, $25; and towels, $10. Each item has the IFMA logo.
Logo items have not been available for some time; so don't miss this
opportunity! Cash or check payable to IFMA, Central Ohio Chapter.
Plans for the annual raffle, also to support the Adopt-a-Family program,
are developing. Three books of tickets will be sent to each member after
the Labor Day holiday, and the drawings will be held at the President's
Dinner in November. Items to be raffled are pouring in, and include,
Blue Jackets' tickets, tickets to a Cameron Mitchell restaurant, a Basket
of Goodies from Sanese, and landscaping by Buck and Sons.
Program Committee (2001 Co-Chairs, Stephanie Patton, Brittany Hauptman)
Chapter members will take a closer look at nature next month with a
program on The Positive Effects of Plantlife in Facilities. The program
will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at The Franklin Park Conservatory.
The program also will include a tour of the conservatory's annual Butterfly
Exhibit.
