Committee Reports

August 2001

Membership

Community Service

Membership Committee (Co-Chairs, Eileen Smith, Shelly Sensenbrenner, and J. D. Flaherty III)

The Membership Committee has added two new co-chairs, Shelly Sensenbrenner and J. D. Flaherty III, replacing Daphne Swayze, now regional manager of Designed Moves, Inc., in Raleigh, N. C. Sensenbrenner is a design and architecture specialist in facility services with Nationwide Insurance. Flaherty is in facility management with the Huntington National Bank.

With the additional co-chairs, Eileen Smith says the emphasis will be on expanding the chapter's membership from its current 183 to 200 by the end of the year. She also reported a successful second New Member Breakfast with 17 people-seven new members-attending. The next breakfast will be from 7:30-9:30 a.m. October 2 at Panera Bread at Olentangy Plaza.

Community Service Committee (2001 Co-Chairs, Janeen Carson and Mark Haberman)

Once again the committee is completing its plans for the annual Adopt-a-Family Raffle that will be held at the President's Dinner November 16 at The River Club, 679 W. Long St. Raffle tickets cost $2 each with a book of six selling for $10. Two books will be mailed to all members shortly after Labor Day, and all proceeds will be used to support the Adopt-a-Family holiday projects.
Mark Haberman reported several great prizes have been obtained by the committee, including a Table for 10 at next summer's Picnic With the Pops concert, Blue Jackets tickets for four donated by Mannington Commercial, a Haworth CIT 10 chair donated by King business Interiors, lunch and golf for two at the New Albany Country Club donated by DuPont Flooring, a gift certificate from Buck & Sons, and gift baskets donated by Sanese Services and The Callard Co.

Haberman said more outstanding prizes are anticipated as additional gifts are received. He also said additional books of tickets may be obtained from him or Janeen Carson.

The committee is continuing to sell logo items-golf shirts, sweatshirts, and golf towels-with proceeds supporting Adopt-a-Family. Persons interested in these items should contact Carson or Haberman.

The committee will again work through St. John Center for families to support at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Anyone who would like to assist with the shopping and/or delivery of the food and gifts should sign up at the President's Dinner or contact Carson or Haberman. Both urge members and associates to:

"Get in the spirit and help the less fortunate!"
