Programs

Associate Relations (Co-Chairs, Vicki Simons and Dale Schmitz)

The committee is gearing up its sponsorship program for 2002. By the end of September, letters will go out to all members, current sponsors, and prospective sponsors soliciting support for the coming year, according to Vicki Simons.

While levels will remain the same for next year, Simons predicts, "Benefits will be even better than before. Look for your letters in the mail."

Levels are: Associate, $100; Manager, $250; Facilitator, $500; and Initiator, $1,000.

Simons also reported that it's not too late to add names to the mailing list if members know someone who might be interested in becoming a chapter sponsor. Any suggestions should be E-mailed to chapter administrator Debbie McCreary at dmccreary@iwaynet.net.

In addition to the name of the prospect, members need to include the person's title, company name, address, phone and fax numbers and E-mail address.

Community Service Committee (2001 Co-Chairs, Janeen Carson and Mark Haberman)

The committee is completing its plans for the annual Adopt-a-Family Raffle that will be held at the President's Dinner in November. Each chapter member should receive three books of tickets this month. Tickets are $2 each with a book of six selling for $10. All proceeds benefit the Adopt-a-Family project. Any member desiring more than three books of tickets should contact Janeen Carson or Mark Haberman.

Committee members report that several major prizes have been donated. They include:

  • Table for 10 at next summer's Picnic With the Pops, donated by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
  • Blue Jacket tickets for two, donated by Mannington Commercial.
  • Haworth CIT 10 chair, donated by King Business Interiors.
  • Lunch and golf for two at the New Albany Country Club, donated by DuPont Flooring.
  • Blue Jacket tickets for four, donated by Designed Moves.
  • Herman Miller Caper task chair, donated by Continental Office.
  • Blue Jacket tickets for two, donated by Thomas W. Ruff.
  • KI manager chair, donated by Bill Thomason & Associates.
  • Gift certificate from Buck &Sons.
  • Two gift baskets, donated by Sanese Services and The Callard Co.

The committee is also continuing to sell logo items-golf shirts, sweatshirts, and golf towels-with proceeds used to support Adopt-a-Family. Members desiring to purchase these items should contact Carson or Haberman.

The committee will again work through St. John Center for families to support during the holidays. Any members who would like to assist with shopping and/or delivery of gifts should contact the committee co-chairs no later than the President's Dinner.

Program Committee (Co-Chairs Stephanie Patton and Brittany Hauptman)

The committee is planning the monthly calendar for 2002 and is seeking assistance from the chapter's members in planning programs that are "fun, interesting, and relevant for members' careers," according to Brittany Hauptman.

To help accomplish this, a Brainstorming Session has been scheduled for 4 p.m. September 24 at NBBJ, 1555 Lake Shore Dr., and all members are invited to present their suggestions for programs.

Any member who would like to share his or her ideas is asked to RSVP with Hauptman (764-4661 or bhauptman@fhai.com) or Stephanie Patton (232-3020 or spatton@nbbj.com) no later than September 19.

Those who attend the session are asked to "bring" their ideas for topics and/or tours. Those unable to attend the session should phone or E-mail their suggestions to one of the co-chairs.

Hauptman said, "Members get bonus points if their suggestions include the names of speakers or facilitators. The payback is fabulous programs to attend next year, light munchies and beverages, and the gratitude of the Membership Committee."

Hauptman also announced two programs for October. At 5:30 p.m. October 10, members will have an opportunity to tour the new theaters in the Arena District. There will be a limit imposed on the number for the tour, and members are urged to make their reservations with the committee co-chairs.

The second program will deal with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), issues (ergonomics). The program will be at 7:30 a.m. October 24 at the Fawcett Center, 2400 Olentangy River Rd.
