The chapter's annual membership drive is underway and going strong. All members have until November 18 to recruit new members for the chapter. As last year, new members signed up must be entered into the IFMA system by noon that day. Those bringing in the most new members will be rewarded at the President's Dinner.
All nominations for membership should be directed to one of the four committee co-chairs or to chapter administrator Debbie McCreary. Chapter membership stands at 180: 133 professional, 44 associates, two students, and one retired and the goal is to push this total beyond 200.
Co-chairs, Brittany Hauptman and Michael Milenovic
Two major events remain for the chapter as 2002 winds down. These are:
(Co-chairs, Vicki Simons and Linda Myers)
The chapter’s annual sponsorship drive is in full force with a goal of reaching or surpassing the current number of sponsors. Vicki Simons reported the chapter raised $20,000 last year through sponsorships, “and we hope to match that figure this year.” Sponsorships are important because they help enable the chapter to offer members free programs and activities throughout the year.
Simons also said those who commit to sponsorships by November 22 will be invited to attend the President’s Dinner December 6 at The Blackwell where they will be recognized as sponsors for 2003. The sponsorship drive will continue through December.
Information on how to become a sponsor is available on the Web site.
(Co-chairs, Mark Haberman, Janeen Carson, and Joyce Cavin)
Tickets are now on sale for the Adopt-a-Family Raffle. Tickets cost $2, with a book of six selling for $10. Tickets have been mailed to all members and all are encouraged to participate in the raffle by buying or selling the tickets.
All proceeds benefit the holiday Adopt-a-Family project and other work the chapter does with the St. John Community Center. Mark Haberman reported that in addition to providing Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and gifts for three or four families associated with the Center, the chapter will use its resources to help improve the Senior Center there.
The chapter assisted greatly this year with extensive improvements to the Youth Center, and is now turning its attention toward the senior citizens who use the east side facility. Haberman said the senior side of the duplex is in need of the same repairs and improvements as the youth center needed.
Twenty great prizes have been donated for the raffle, and winners will be drawn at the President’s Dinner December 6 at The Blackwell at The Ohio State University. Prizes include:
