Brittany Hauptman and Michael Milenovic Co-Chairs

The art of negotiating, and doing it with power is the topic for the March12 chapter program set for 7:30 a.m. at the Fawcett Center on the west campus at The Ohio state University.

Rob Sherman of the Sherman Leadership Group, One Easton Oval, Columbus, will discuss this intriguing topic and offer his insight into the delicate art of negotiating.  Sherman is a nationally acclaimed speaker, author, and trainer with a passion for helping people develop their leadership talent.  He is the author of "Sherman's 21 Laws of Speaking:  How to Inspire Others to Action".

Sherman has 20 years experience in business law and association management.  He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Law and spent six years with the Ohio Attorney General's office.  Sherman has a diverse background in law, business, and association management, and is an active member of NSA Ohio and the National Speakers Association.

He is a founding director of an adoption agency, founded a national real estate appraisal association, co-written two books on malpractice strategies for doctors and is a visiting instructor at Otterbein College.  Mark you calendars for March 12.  Sherman's presentation is one you will not want to miss.

Committee Report
Associate Relations

Vicki Simons and Linda Myers Co-Chairs

The Associate Relations Committee reports the chapter raised $16,950 through its annual sponsorship drive with six Initiators at the $1,000 level, 15 Facilitators at the $500 level, 11 Managers at the $250 level, and seven Associates at the $100 level.  Simons expressed the committee’s appreciation to the 2003 sponsors to those who helped with the sponsorship drive.  She said:

“In light of the economy, we are pleased with this result.  We feel it illustrates the strong support our chapter receives from the central Ohio facilities community, even in a challenging business climate.  We are already beginning to plan for our 2004 campaign, and we are also working on plans for providing additional ways to become a resource for Associate members.  We will have more on this in the weeks ahead.”

Anyone who would like to work with this important committee should contact Simons at vickisimons@columbus.rr.com, or Myers at LMYERS2@steelcase.com.

Committee Report
Membership

Eileen Smith and Shelly Sensenbrenner Co-Chairs

Is there room in your billfold or purse for an extra buck or two?

How about $100?

That's the amount two lucky members of the Central Ohio IFMA Chapter will pocket by participating in the chapter's membership drive now through June 30.

And it couldn't be easier.  All you have to do to become eligible for one of two $100 prizes is to submit the name, company name, and telephone number of a potential professional member to Smith at Eileen.Smith@Verizon Wireless.com or 560-2600, or to Sensenbrenner at ssens@nationwide.com or 677-9928.  You don’t even have to contact the individual to see whether he or she is interested in membership.  The Membership Committee will handle the "selling" chore for you.  Also, the more names you submit, the more chances you have of winning when the names are drawn at a chapter event in July.  So, put you thinking caps on and get you name in the hat for the drawing.  In fact, get it in several times.
