The strong recruiting efforts by the Chapter's Membership Committee are paying off.
The chapter was cited in the International's March membership report for its hard work in increasing membership to nearly 200. The report listed the chapter with 123 professional members, three non-chapter members, and six student members, or 66 percent of the membership, and 65 associate members for 34 percent.
The committee is continuing its efforts to increase professional membership through its membership drive that ends June 30. The committee is offering $100 cash prizes to two professional members who participate in the drive. To be eligible, professional members must refer the names and contact information of potential professional members to Eileen Smith at eileen.smith@verizonwireless.com, or Shelly Sensenbrenner at sensens@nationwide.com. Members do not need to contact the individuals whose names are submitted. Smith and Sensenbrenner will make the contact to determine interest and eligibility.
With each submission of a potential new member's name and contract information, the name of the submitting member will be entered into a drawing for one of the two $100 prizes. The more names an individual submits, the better his or her chances of winning. So, don't delay; send in your candidates today!
Brittany Hauptman and Michael Milenovic Co-Chairs

Ken Mulligan and Tom Logsdon Co-Chairs
Professional facility managers interested in obtaining a Certified Facility Manager designation are invited to join a study group to help prepare for the examination. A study group session for Section 1-Project Management will be conducted from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at Commercial Movers, 1299 Boltonfield St., Columbus. Anyone interested in attending or with questions about the study session should contact Ken Mulligan at 851-4214 or by email at kmulliga@commercialmovers.com. Also, members interested in joining the Education Committee are invited to attend the session.
Former chapter president Tom Logsdon is taking a four-five month hiatus from IFMA and just about everything else. Logsdon retired April 11 after nearly 20 years with National Realty Service (NRS) and fled Columbus. He should be somewhere along the Appalachian Trail, the 2,167-mile (3,488 km) footpath along the ridge crests and across the major valleys of the Appalachian Mountains from Katahdin in Maine to Springer Mountain in north Georgia. Indications are Logsdon headed south. According to a NRS associate, "walking the trail is something Tom has threatened to do for a long time." Logsdon does plan to return to Columbus when he completes the hike.
