World Workplace

World Workplace 2003 is drawing closer and closer!

The annual event is only three months awayOctober 19-21 in Dallas--but it's time to get your name on the list of those attending from the Central Ohio IFMA Chapter.

Stephanie Segall-Butcher, chair of the event, reports that a block of rooms has been reserved for chapter members at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas, and persons interested in attending need to contact her immediately for room information.

Segall-Butcher predicts another great time for those attending.  She also reports there will be more "scholarships" available this year to help members defray expenses.  The rules remain the same as last year for those applying for scholarships.  They are:

The chapter's executive board will decide the scholarship winners.  All applications must be faxed or emailed to Segall-Butcher by August 31 (614) 717-9958 or srsucla@aol.com.  If you have questions about the application, or about the scholarships in general, contact Segall-Butcher at  (614) 717-9957.

Associate Relations

Jennifer Jarrett and Linda Myers, co-chairs

The Associate Relations Committee is reviving an event that in previous years was geared to associate members of the chapter.  The event, while mainly for associate members, is open to all chapter members, and will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. August 19 at the Grandview CafĂ©, 1455 W. Third Ave.

There will be light refreshments, cash bar, and a brief presentation by Larry Tremaglio of Triumvir Consulting, who will discuss, Ethics in the Customer/Service Provider Relationship.  Triumvir Consulting is a State College, Pa.-based consulting group that specializes in different aspects of leadership characteristics, guidelines, and techniques.  He also will stay following the presentation to talk, network, and answer any questions that associates might have.
 
Tremaglio is the brother-in-law of Jennifer Jarrett, the new co-chair of the committee.  Associates and members interested in attending the event are urged to contact Jarrett at Jennifer.Jarrett@usbank.com or by phone (614) 232-8101 by August 14.

Education

Ken Mulligan and Mac Ware, Co-chairs

The Education Committee will conduct its monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. July 30 at Commercial Movers, Inc. 1299 Boltonfield Street.  At the same time, professional property managers interested in obtaining the CFM designation may join a study group at Commercial Movers.  The topic for the study group is Space Planning / Life Safety / ADA.  Anyone with questions about the study session or becoming a member of the committee should contact Mulligan at (614) 851-4214, or by email at kmulliga@commercialmovers.com.
