Nearly 90 persons turned out at the Riviera Golf Club June 28 for the 19th Annual IFMA Golf Outing.

And as rain clouds danced around the Dublin course for much of the late morning and afternoon, the foursome of Roy Brewer, Tamra Fuscaldo, Eric Zimmerman, and Bryan Little paid little attention to the threatening weather and came in with the lowest score—a 12 under 60 for the round.

The winners received golf hats, balls, and bragging rights for a year as the Central Ohio Chapter’s best golfers.

However, you can’t spend bragging rights, and ear-to-ear grins were on the faces of the foursome led by Christine Robertson and J.D. Flaherty along with Kathy Schneider and Bill Heise, who won the single skin and split a $280 pot.

Other golf awards went to Scott Bartlett, Eric Zimmerman, Jim Yankle, and Joelle Rubcich.  Bartlett was closest to the pin on No. 4, Zimmerman on No. 16; Yankle had the longest drive on No. 11, par 4, Rubcich on No. 2, par 5.

As the foursomes made their way around the course, they were greeted of several occasions by Stephan Cooke, who was filling in for Robertson and Steve Niswonger, co-chairs of the chapter’s Community Relations Committee, and for chapter vice president Sandy Stayrook, who was unable to attend.

Cooke sold some $500 worth of tickets for the raffle that is tied to the outing as one of the chapter’s principal fundraisers.  These dollars will be used to help support the chapter’s Adopt-a-Family Fund for a variety of community programs.

As the competitors traipsed from the course into the clubhouse area, they were greeted by a buffet of burgers, brats, chicken breasts, baked beans, cole slaw, pasta salad, fruit, and cookies.

With golfers fed and tickets sold, Cook, along with chapter president Justin Murphy, put on their emcee hats, welcomed and thanked those attending for their generosity, acknowledged Riviera officials and Bill Weiss for scheduling the event at his club, and conducted the raffle.

Raffled items included gift certificates for use at restaurants, sporting goods and electronics stores, and Riviera; numerous packages of golf balls and other golfing paraphernalia; portable grill, portable pop-up cooler, and a Steelcase chair.

These items were donated by IFMA, Capital Services, Continental Office, Clara I. Brown Interiors, Inc., Millicare, Riviera Golf Club, Planes Commercial Services, Ruscilli Development, TW Ruff, AOL, Brickman, and Perry’s Window Cleaning.

Hole sponsors for the event were:

Aetna Building Maintenance, Doug Chapman; Brickman Group, Justin Murphy; Commercial Movers, Inc., Ken Mulligan; Construction Systems, Inc., J.D. Flaherty; Planes Commercial Services, Matt Frost; Ruscilli Development Co., Ltd., Sandy Stayrook; Scioto Services, Steve Niswonger; Vorys, Sater, Seymour, & Pease, LLP, Chet Eckler; and J.
